Who we are

This Privacy Policy describes how HakoCut ("HakoCut," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our websites, apps, and related services at hakocut.com (the "Service").

Legal entity name: HakoCut (update with your registered company name if different).

Information we collect

Depending on how you use HakoCut, we may collect:

  • Account information: email address, display name, and authentication identifiers when you sign in (for example with Google or Apple)
  • Project and preference data: project metadata, settings, and content you choose to sync or store with our servers when using cloud or account features
  • Usage and device data: approximate location derived from IP, browser/app type, pages or features used, and diagnostic logs needed to operate and secure the Service
  • Local device data: projects and preferences stored in your browser (for example IndexedDB) or on-device app storage when you work offline or locally
  • YouTube data (only if you connect YouTube): as described in the YouTube API Services section below
  • Communications: messages you send to support or privacy contacts

How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Authenticate users and sync projects when you sign in
  • Power optional features you enable (including YouTube-related growth, publish, or channel tools)
  • Respond to support requests and protect against abuse
  • Understand aggregate product usage and reliability
  • Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service

YouTube API Services

HakoCut uses YouTube API Services to provide optional features such as connecting a YouTube channel, channel insights, metadata suggestions, publish-related workflows, and similar tools. If you choose to connect your YouTube account, HakoCut may access YouTube data associated with that connection (for example channel identity, video or channel statistics, and other information permitted by the scopes you approve).

By using HakoCut features that call YouTube API Services, you are agreeing to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.

Google's privacy practices for YouTube and related services are described in the Google Privacy Policy.

We use YouTube data only to:

  • Provide the YouTube-connected features you request
  • Display channel or video information back to you in HakoCut
  • Maintain and secure the connection you authorized

We do not sell YouTube user data. We do not use YouTube API data for independent advertising profiles unrelated to providing the Service.

Revoking YouTube access and deleting data

You can control YouTube-connected data as follows:

  • Revoke access via Google: visit Google Account permissions and remove HakoCut / the relevant app access
  • Disconnect in HakoCut: use in-product YouTube / integrations settings where available to disconnect your channel
  • Delete account or request deletion: signed-in users can use account privacy settings where offered, or email [email protected] to request deletion of personal data we hold about you
  • Local data: clear browser storage or uninstall the desktop app to remove locally stored projects and preferences

Third-party services

HakoCut may use third-party services to operate the product. These can include:

  • Google / YouTube API Services: for optional YouTube features (see above)
  • Google / Apple sign-in: for authentication when you choose those providers
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers that serve the website and APIs
  • Analytics (for example Databuddy or similar) for aggregated product and site metrics
  • Optional AI / media providers you enable (for example generative or stock services), which process prompts or media you submit according to their own terms

Third parties process data under their own privacy policies. Use of YouTube is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy linked above.

Cookies and local storage

We and our providers may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to:

  • Keep you signed in and remember preferences
  • Store projects and editor state on your device
  • Measure site traffic and reliability in aggregate
  • Secure the Service (for example CSRF or session tokens)

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Clearing site data may remove local projects and sign-in state.

Sharing of information

We may share information:

  • With service providers who help us operate HakoCut
  • With Google/YouTube when you connect and use YouTube API features
  • If required by law or to protect rights and safety
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer
  • With your direction or consent

We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention

We retain account and server-stored data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Locally stored data remains on your device until you clear it. YouTube access tokens and related connection data are retained only while the connection is active or as needed for security and audit purposes after disconnect.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact [email protected] to make a request.

Children

HakoCut is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

International transfers

We may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and revise the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated through the Service or by email when appropriate. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
